Polar Light Technologies Appoints Ashutosh Kumar as Chief Operating Officer

Polar Light Technologies is pleased to announce the appointment of Ashutosh Kumar as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mr. Kumar brings extensive international experience in semiconductors, nanotechnology, and cross-sector industrial collaboration, further strengthening the company’s leadership team as it scales operations and advances commercialization. 

Prior to joining Polar Light Technologies, Dr. Kumar held a senior role at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, where he led industrial collaboration initiatives for Swedish startups in semiconductors and nanotechnology. In this capacity, he successfully aligned research capabilities with startup needs, enhanced operational efficiency, and established strategic partnerships that accelerated innovation pipelines. His international career also includes project work in Japan with global industry leaders such as Sony and Fuji Electric. 

Most recently, Mr. Kumar served as Sweden Country Coordinator and Project Lead for All2GaN, a flagship European program supported by Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) and Vinnova. In this role, he oversaw Sweden’s national contributions to the GaN Integration Toolbox, managed governance structures, budgets, and resources, and coordinated multi-stakeholder collaboration across government, academia, and industry to foster GaN technology adoption and commercialization.
